ExcelRewind Companion

An optional Windows helper that upgrades the Excel add-in: it attaches to your running Excel and enables automatic source-file attachment for cross-workbook formulas and recording across all open workbooks at once.

Install
  1. Windows may block the zip — right-click the downloaded ExcelRewindCompanion.zip → Properties → tick Unblock → OK before unzipping.
  2. Unzip, then right-click install-companion.ps1 → Run with PowerShell. If the extracted .exe is still blocked, unblock it the same way (right-click → Properties → Unblock).
  3. Windows SmartScreen may warn — the app is not yet code-signed. Choose More info → Run anyway. (Signing is planned.)
  4. Start the Companion from the Start Menu, then in Excel open the ExcelRewind pane → ⚙ Settings → Companion → Connect and approve the prompt.
What it can and can't do

Runs only on 127.0.0.1, talks only to the ExcelRewind pane after you approve pairing, attaches to your running Excel (never launches its own), and never sends anything to the internet.
